According to reports, the next Apple product launch will happen on March 25th at the Steve Jobs Theater in the company’s Cupertino campus.
While Apple did not officially release any significant information about the event, rumors circulating online suggest that the product could be their streaming television service.
In the invitation sent by Apple to different media outlets, the company only wrote a single-line sentence: “It’s show time.”
According to a BuzzFeed News source, the launch will focus on subscription services. However, the media outlet’s insider has not confirmed any details about Apple’s stand-alone video streaming service.
Apple Product Launch Event
Apple traditionally launches many of its products during late March. However, there is still a slight chance that the date could move to a later date.
Earlier this year, the Information reported that Apple approached networks and studios, telling them to prepare for an April product/service debut.
This time, the iPhone maker reportedly invited a few celebrities to its mysterious product launch. Bloomberg reported that Hollywood stars like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and director JJ Abrams were among the invitees.
This streaming service is Apple’s attempt to compete with giants like Amazon Prime and Netflix, although it may be too late to play catch-up.
Reports claim that the company already created a number of original programs worth roughly $1 billion USD in production. But, Apple is yet to wrap them all up in a subscription. The shows allegedly include dramas, comedies, kid’s programs, and docu-series.
There are also rumors that Apple will also offer a news service allowing subscribers to view exclusive content from Apple’s partner publishers.
At the moment, the company is reportedly in talks with major publishers like The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.
Again, Apple is still in the process of ironing its plans so changes are inevitable.
