The highly anticipated Apple WWDC 2018 kicks off today. Let’s see what the everyman’s tech giant has in store for 2018.

The Worldwide Developer Conference or Apple WWDC 2018 happens today at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. As expected, Apple CEO Tim Cook and the company’s other top executives will be delivering keynote speeches and announcing some of the latest offerings from Apple.

During the event, Apple enthusiasts are expecting that the tech company will be introducing its latest software, like iOS 12, and the next updates for its iPhone smart devices. The hope is that the new iOS 12 will bring the iPhone more stability and performance boosts together with some health and parental control features.

There are also reports that the new update will include NFC functionality in iPhone that will allow the device to unlock smart locks, cars, and hotel rooms.

There are also talks that Apple will let its macOS and iOS run apps across platforms without requiring separate versions of the software–a project called the Marzipan Project. However, it was explained last December by blogger John Gruber that the project was more of a declarative control API, noting that it’s less likely to materialize until iOS 13 releases in 2019.

Aside from new software, we are also hoping to see more gadgets from Apple. Last September, the company promised that they would be releasing the AirPower wireless charging mat for the iPhone 8, iPhone X, and the Apple Watch.

It’s interesting to note the company’s success in keeping everything quiet as there have been few rumors ahead of today’s big event. These definitely give people more reason to watch Cook’s keynote speech.
