Thanos from the Avengers movies will be coming to Fortnite. This article does contain SPOILERS, so don’t read this if you haven’t seen Avengers yet.

The latest Avengers movie Infinity War broke $1-billion USD in revenue in its first week. But the film won’t be Thanos’ only appearance this year apparently.

Huge success Fortnite from Epic Games hinted at the purple Josh Brolin character joining their universe, too. So did the Russo brothers who directed Avengers: Infinity War on Twitter.

This lines up with what people now expect season 4 in Fortnite to be about: heroes,  villains, and movie-making. The best part: the epic crossover is happening TOMORROW.

Is Thanos going to snap his fingers and dust already destroyed Dusty Depot?

The Comet hit . . . now What Russo brothers?

Those of you who play the game know that a comet struck poor Dusty Depot recently. We all thought it was going to be fan favorite drop point, called Tilted Towers. Alas, we now know it as poor Dusty Divot.

But season 4 also revealed Risky Reels which features a “big screen”, as well as randomly placed green screens and cameras around different areas. Datamined season 4 rumor has it that heroes must dance in front of various cameras.

So how does Thanos who wields a not totally knackered Infinity Gauntlet fit into this?

He snapped his fingers, eliminating half of the universe’s population including most of the Avengers, Wakanda, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The cryptic tweet from the Russo brothers doesn’t illuminate any details about how the Mad Titan fits into the Fortnite universe. But the two are huge fans of the game, turning to Entertainment Weekly to reveal some details.

Not only did the Russo brothers confess how big of fans they were, they recounted the story of how the crossover came about: they reached out to the worldwide creative director of Epic Games.

Donald Mustard helped the Russo brothers develop the concept before handing it to Fortnite’s creative team for gameplay development.

Battle Royale, starting tomorrow, will feature the Infinity Gauntlet in play. Whoever finds the gauntlet first will wield the same powers Thanos did in the film.

Seems cool, right? Well, the internet had a few things to say beyond the tweet above.

Fresh and Crispy Memes

All of the Fortnite and Avengers crossovers memes seem to be multiplying as the day goes on. I don’t know about you, but seeing the people fading away memes still tugs at my heartstrings.

It feels especially odd given how much levity fills the Fortnite games and tone.

But, hey, memelords gonna meme. So, let’s enjoy the ride.

Perhaps the best one (or the worst depending on perspective) is this one from Twitter user Nibel. If you know anything about the Fortnite and Player Unknown Battlegrounds rivalry, this one might hit a sore spot.

How do you think the Mad Titan Thanos will fit into the Fortnite universe?
