Elon Musk wants you and your dog to have the most comfortable experience in a Tesla. With that in mind, the CEO tweeted on Thursday that his company would release two Enhanced Autopilot features via an over-the-air software update.

For dog owners, the most exciting upcoming update is one that’s expected to keep their pups cool and entertained while they run errands.

As suggested by twitter follower Josh Atchley, the update should be called the Dog-Mode.

How the Dog-Mode Idea Started

As Atchley described, it could be a setting that would enable pet owners to leave the car’s music and air conditioning on while in park mode. That way, owners could confidently leave their dog alone in the car without fear of the dog getting agitated.

He also suggested that the Dog-Mode should include an on-screen display which says; “I’m fine my owner will be right back.”

The next day, the automaking company’s CEO replied the request with a simple yes.

That was about four months ago. Based on Musk’s Thursday Tweet, the Dog Mode update could roll out any time this week.

Atchley later requested that Tesla include a screen display of the car’s current temperature and the length of time the dog owner has been away to the update.

While there was no response to the later request, we’ll know if the car company heeds the request when Dog Mode rolls out.

The Sentry Mode

The story behind the second Enhanced Autopilot feature, Sentry Mode, also began on Twitter.

On January 22, Andy Sutton tagged Elon Musk in a tweet containing a picture of his damaged Tesla and expressed his wish for a 360-degree dashcam feature while parked. Like a genie from Aladdin’s lamp, Musk appeared in the Twitter thread to grant Sutton’s wish.

The CEO responded; “Tesla Sentry Mode coming soon for all cars with Enhanced Autopilot.”

Musk later explained that the feature would “play Bach’s Toccata and Fugue during a robbery and keep Summer safe.”

In case you were wondering, the “Keep Summer Safe” is in reference to a car in “Rick and Morty” that goes through an extreme measure to keep its inhabitant, Summer, safe.
