Deemed as the biggest IT conference in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, IT Arena 2017 will be kicking off today.
Happening at Arena Lviv Stadium in Lviv, the largest city in western Ukraine and the 7th largest in the country, the IT Arena 2017 conference will once again unite hundreds of the world’s top influencers and brightest minds starting today, September 29th until October 1st.
Now in its fourth year, the event will showcase the newest technologies from different tech companies and innovators, together with rousing speeches and hours of networking. It will be three days of non-stop learning and collaboration–a great way to celebrate the future today!
The event was deemed by many as the best opportunity for the rest of the world to get acquainted with the Eastern European IT market. Here’s a short preview of what’s going to happen at the IT Arena 2017 conference.

For years, IT Arena has brought together some of the world-renowned changemakers in the field of Information Technology. This year, participants would get to listen to the following speakers:
- Samar Singla, Founder, and CEO at Jugnoo
- Eugene Borukhovich, Global Head, Digital Health Incubation & Innovation at Bayer
- Marvin Liao, Partner at 500 Startups, a global Seed Venture Capital Firm & Startup Accelerator based in Silicon Valley
- Julien Simon, Principal Technical Evangelist at Amazon Web Services
- Alvaro Costa, CEO of Synthetic Data and a professor of Big Data at Madrid’s EOI
In addition to this list, keynote speeches would be delivered by the following superstar IT innovators:
- Michael Shmilov, COO, Viber
- Jonathan Vella, Co-founder and Design Director, Hotjar
- Ricky Solorzano, Co-founder and CTO, BioBots
- Samar Singla, Founder and CEO, Jugnoo
During the first day, participants would be treated to a big exposition of technology designed in Ukraine. Something to look forward to as well, is the Startup Competition that usually unite over a hundred startups from the country and abroad.
The IT Arena would also host the Futureland Festival, the highly anticipated festival of technology and electronic music. Last year, it was reported that over 4,000 people visited the festival. This year would mark the second year of the IT Arena featuring the Futureland Festival.
On the third day, organizers of the IT Arena 2017 would try something different by transferring all the conference events from the stadium to the old city center. The move was said to be a part of the organizers’ effort to introduce the city of Lviv to international guests while getting local citizens engaged in tech world.
According to Lviv IT Cluster, “more than 30 meetups on different interesting topics will take place in 10 restaurants and co-working spaces around UNESCO heritage Rynok Square, the heart of Lviv’s city center.”
The meetups are available for all IT Arena 2017 participants. However, an advanced registration would be needed to participate.The meetups will run from 11 AM until 7 PM in the evening.
Lastly, the IT Arena 2017 would end with a party in the city center–on Arsenalna Street, which is a lovely way to end the conference with tasty local food in an informal atmosphere.
