Robin Hood Would Love This VR Archery Game

Edgy Labs has been busy developing our new VR Archery game, and we’re excited to show it off. It might be all work and no play around here for us, but we want you to at least enjoy our newest VR creation.

Go ahead, Robin Hood– try it out and tell us what you think!

Start by practicing your aim during timed training sessions. The object of the training sessions is to hit as many dummy targets as possible while accurately performing natural archery moves like stretching the bowstring, aiming, and reloading.

Fun fact: Simulations like our game can actually improve hand/eye coordination in the real world. You are most certainly welcome, good Sirs (and fair Maidens)!

Applied Technologies

  • VR Equipment, specifically the HTC Vive with motion controllers to simulate hand movement
  • Real-time 3D interactions in response to player movement as sensed by VR equipment
  • Study and model true archer movements and build a physical model for arrow trajectory

Results

  • A casual yet enjoyable game which aims to improve Robin Hood’s speed, accuracy, and eye-body coordination
