Here’s everything you need to know about the Verizon 5G Home Broadband Internet service that will go live next month in some major parts of the United States.

Yesterday, it was announced that the world’s first commercial 5G service, the Verizon 5G Home Broadband Internet service, will go live on October 1st. To date, Verizon remains to be one of the leading Internet Service Provider in the U.S. Verizon said that their 5G service is a part of the company’s effort to continue its “consumer first” legacy.

Starting today, Verizon customers who wish to be a “First On 5G” Member could sign up and learn more about the service at Verizon 5G. The 5G Internet service will initially be launched in some parts of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.

Verizon 5G is said to be built on Verizon’s Ultra Wideband 5G network, and it is also the first commercial 5G broadband Internet service to be offered to consumers. Aside from this, Verizon will also be the first ISP company to provide 5G mobile service to the public.

“To be first, we encouraged others in the ecosystem to move more quickly at every step. We appreciate the partnership of network equipment makers, device manufacturers, software developers and chip makers in reaching this critical milestone. The entire wireless industry gets to celebrate.”

According to Verizon, all early consumers in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento who will sign up to be “First On 5G” Members will get the Verizon 5G Home Broadband Internet service free for the first three months. The promo is reportedly part of the special introductory offer exclusive to all First On 5G Members only.

After the Verizon 5G introductory period, existing Verizon Wireless customers with a smartphone plan will have to pay $50 per month to avail the service. On the other hand, non-Verizon Wireless customers will need to pay $70 per month.

All Verizon 5G Home customers may expect a regular network speed of around 300 Mbps. Depending on their location, Verizon said that the network speed could peak up to 1 Gb with NO data caps.

“We spent the last three years driving the industry to bring 5G to consumers as soon as possible. We developed early standards that allowed the industry and hardware and software manufacturers to build solutions more quickly. As a result of this initiative and ongoing collaboration, we will rapidly deliver the promise of 5G to our customers.”

After the initial rollout, Verizon is planning to expand its coverage area in the coming months rapidly.
