Bing is about to roll out a modernized version of its Webmaster Tools, coming with new design and features.
According to Bing, the webmaster community has been complaining about the portal. While some said that the Webmaster Tools user interface was slow, others felt that it was outdated, or both.
Bing took this feedback into account and decided to create a modern version of the tool. On Wednesday, the company announced a new Bing Webmaster tool that’ll be available to all users in the first week of March.
In the announcement, The Bing Webmaster Tools team wrote:
“Today, we are delighted to announce the first iteration of the refreshed Bing Webmaster Tools portal.”
Here’s what you should know about the new design and features.
Modern Look and Features of Bing Webmaster Tools
The team redesigned the portal to be “cleaner and responsive with faster and actionable tools.”
Bing’s Webmaster Tools now offer a redesigned user experience that’s compatible with both desktop and mobile devices. The team also updated the backed datastore to improve data extraction speed.
The first version of the portal will have three primary features. These are:
- Backlinks Report: An integration of Inbound Links and Disavow Links in the current portal
- Search Performance: An integration of Page Traffic and Search Keywords report
- Sitemaps: A refreshed Sitemaps page of the existing portal
In the coming months, Bing will move all the functionalities of the current portal to the new version. However, users will have access to both versions of the tool during the transition period.
The refreshed Webmaster Tool is rolling out to only a few users this week. However, all users should have access to the new portal by the first week of March
To have early access, visit aka.ms/newbwt, and sign up to Bing Webmaster Tools. After that, navigate to Inbound Links, Search Keywords, Sitemaps, or Page Traffic and click on the links to open the tool.
