A week after starting its rollout, the August broad core search algorithm update by Google has finally been completed.

In a tweet last week, search engine giant Google announced that it would be releasing another broad core algorithm update to improve its services this month. The update is part of the company’s routine process that it does several times a year.

Earlier this year, Google rolled out two other broad core algorithm updates, one on March then another last April. For the first two updates, the search engine company said that its advice to webmasters has not changed for the said updates.

“Each day, Google usually releases one or more changes designed to improve our results. Some are focused around specific improvements. Some are broad changes. Last week, we released a broad core algorithm update. We do these routinely several times per year,” Google said back then.

“As with any update, some sites may note drops or gains. There’s nothing wrong with pages that may now perform less well. Instead, it’s that changes to our systems are benefiting pages that were previously under-rewarded.

There’s no “fix” for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. Over time, it may be that your content may rise relative to other pages.”

According to Search Engine Land, this month’s broad core algorithm update is said to be “one of the more significant updates” from Google especially on the organic side.

For this update, Google told webmasters that they don’t have to make any technical modifications to their sites. The company said that the update is aimed at promoting websites that were previously undervalued so no fix is needed. Instead, Google reminded webmasters to continue searching for ways to make their sites’ overall performance better.

Have you experienced any changes to your website’s ranking after every Google broad core algorithm update?
